Hello Wixom Historical Society Members and Friends,
This Sunday, November 8, is our annual Antique Appraisal Fair & Silent Auction at Wixom City Hall, 49045 Pontiac Trail, from Noon to 4 PM.
Professional Appraiser Fred Fleming will be back again this year to evaluate your treasures. There is a $5 charge for each item appraised, with all proceeds benefiting the Historical Society’s programs and events. It is our version of Antiques Roadshow!
At the same time, please check our selection of more than 70 baskets at our Silent Auction.
Some people have asked how our silent auction works. Here is the process: Each basket displays a minimum bid amount. If you want to buy a specific basket, you write on a bid sheet: your name, phone number, and the highest amount you are willing to pay. Then you place your bid–No one reads your bid amount until the auction ends. At 4 PM, we end the auction, and the person with the highest bid for each basket gets to buy that basket for their bid price.  You don’t have to be present at 4 PM; we will call you if your bid was successful. You may pay by cash or check and you may bid on as many baskets as you would like. If you really want a specific basket, you can pay the Buy It Now price, and take the basket with you immediately.
We have a variety of donated baskets, with assorted minimum bids. A few baskets have a minimum bid of $5, the rest are higher. Items include: A gift card to Wixom Station Restaurant, Kroger gift card, All Tire oil changes, Buttercream Bakeshop baked goods, Your Salon professional hair care products, children’s books, blankets and stuffed toys, children’s craft baskets, women’s jewelry, lotions and skin care products, wine, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, birthday, mother, grandmother, to name a few. All proceeds benefit Wixom Historical Society.
This is a popular event; there is no admission charge, so come, browse and observe if you would like. We hope to see you there!
Thanks
Laure Dorchak
